FAQ – Gold-Plated Jewellery

How long does the plating last?

Our jewellery is crafted with 1 gm gold plating over a brass/copper base, designed to retain its brilliance with proper care. With regular, mindful wear the finish typically lasts 6–12 months or longer. Thickness of wear, exposure to chemicals, and skin chemistry are the key factors — pieces worn occasionally will outlast those in daily contact with sweat or water.

Will it tarnish or fade?

Gold plating is durable, but it can gradually fade with prolonged exposure to moisture, perfumes, and chemicals. We use high-quality plating to slow this process significantly. Store your pieces away from humidity, avoid direct contact with beauty products, and your jewellery will hold its lustre far longer.

Do the Jewellery are Casual/Party wear ??

Yes, majority of our jewellery are dailywear/party wear, however it depends on the jewellery.

Water, Sweat & Skin Sensitivity

We recommend removing your KRIVANSH pieces before bathing, swimming, or intense activity. Prolonged exposure to water or sweat accelerates wear on the plating. For those with sensitive skin, wearing jewellery over clothing or applying a thin layer of clear nail polish on contact points can help extend wear and minimise any reaction.

Cleaning & Care Instructions

• Wipe gently after each wear using a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
• Avoid jewellery cleaners, ultrasonic baths, and abrasive materials — these strip the plating.
• Store each piece individually in an airtight pouch or the KRIVANSH box to prevent scratching and oxidation.
• Keep away from perfume, hairspray, and lotion — apply these first, let them dry, then wear your jewellery.

Sizing & Length Guide

Choosing the right length ensures your piece sits perfectly. Use this as a quick reference:

• Chains (18–30 in) — Sit at the collarbone; ideal for pendants and layering.
• Mangalsutra short (18–20 in) — Sits close to the neckline; modern and minimal.
• Mangalsutra long (24–30 in) — Traditional drape, ideal for sarees and anarkalis.
